The university has nine schools that offer UG and PG degrees, diplomas, and doctoral level programmes in engineering, management, medical science, nursing, pharmacy, science and Unani medicine. The minimum requirement for getting into any UG degree programme is to pass the 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks. For PG course admission, the student must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
For some UG programs like BA, B.Com, and BCA, the merit scores and intermediate study completion are a must, whereas, for some engineering programs, the entrance JEE Mains is a must for the students to clear. Students also need to go through the entrance test designed by the university for the medical programs.
Jamia Hamdard University provides full-time B.Tech, BBA, BCA, B.Com, and BA programs at the undergraduate level. For B.Tech, a minimum of 50% in 10+2 (PCM) is required, while for BA, BBA, BCA, and B.Com, a 10+2 in any stream is required. Admission to engineering courses is based on JEE Mains rank, whereas admission to some programs is based on merit scored by the student in the previous qualifying examination followed by an interview.

The university offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. The students who have completed their 12th board examinations in the science stream and scored at least 50% marks can apply for admission to this programme. The admission process will be based on merit scored by the student in the qualifying entrance exam, followed by counselling.
