The National Testing Agency had previously released the exam city slip for the session 1 exam on January 18. Some candidates have expressed concern that the exam city is more than 500 kilometres away and have urged the NTA to reconsider the location.
Up to one exam has been added to the schedule.
The JEE Main exam will be held between January 24 and February 1. Paper 1 will be administered in two shifts on January 24, 25, 29, 30, 31, and February 1. Paper 2 is scheduled for January 28 (second shift only). The dates of the examination were set earlier in the schedule: January 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31. According to the new schedule, the JEE Mains exam will no longer be held on January 27, 2023. Only the second shift exam will be held on January 28. That is, both the January 27 shift and the first shift of February 28 have been dropped from the new schedule.
At the same time, students are demanding a change due to the clash of Bihar Board exams with JEE Main. The revised date has exacerbated the problems of Bihar Board students. The NTA has moved the previously announced February 27 exam date to February 1. The Bihar board exam begins on February 1st. On the first day, there is a math exam. Thousands of Bihar Board candidates may be forced to skip the JEE Main exam as a result of this situation. If it is not changed in time, Bihar Board students will be denied access to the JEE Main exam.
The JEE Main 2023 examination will be held for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes such as BE, B.Tech at NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). JEE Main Paper 2 is held throughout the country for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning programmes.
