2022 Citroen C5 Aircross Facelift India Launch Soon

2022 Citroen C5 Aircross will arrive soon in India with an assortment of updates inside and out

Citroen India has officially released a teaser stating that the new version of the C5 Aircross would go on sale in India soon. The premium SUV is the first model introduced by the French auto major when it made its market debut last year but its sales numbers have not been impressive. To garner more customers, Citroen will bring in the facelifted version, which made its global debut last year. Here are the five things you should know about it.

1. Price:

We do expect the 2023 Citroen C5 Aircross to be priced at a premium over the outgoing model considering the updates it is receiving. It could carry a starting price of Rs. 37.5 lakh and it may go all the way up to Rs. 41 lakh (ex-showroom) for the range-topping variant. It will take on the recently launched new generation Hyundai Tucson.

2. Exterior:

The exterior gets a number of revisions to bring a fresh vibe as the front fascia comes with new headlamps in place of the split unit, new twin-line LED DRLs, redesigned bumper and vertical air inlets. Other visual highlights are newly designed LED tail lamps, new 18-inch alloy wheels, etc. Expect new colour schemes to be part of the package as well.

3. Interior:

The interior of the 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross will be a big departure compared to the outgoing model as it is nearly identical to the C5X sold globally. The premium quality materials used on the inside are also expected to be improved further while there will also be a new centre console.

4. Features:

The features list will likely boast a floating 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated climatic controls, a revised 12.3-inch instrument console with navigation, a drive mode selector, an Advanced Comfort seat enabling 15 mm foam and offering heating as well as massage functions, panoramic sunroof, ADAS based technologies from Highway Driver Assist suite with forward collision prevention, lane-keeping assist and an adaptive cruise control system with a stop-and-go function, etc.

5. Powertrain:

India is expected to retain the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine producing a maximum power output of around 177 PS and is currently paired with an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission. In the international markets, the 2022 C5 Aircross comes with petrol, diesel and PHEV options.
