BYD introduced the Seal electric sedan in Malaysia before its March 5, 2024, launch in India. A Malaysia-specific Seal is available in two trim levels at TRX Exchange: premium and performance. Without insurance, the Seal Premium (Extended Range) costs RM180,430 (Rs 31.42 lakh) OTR.

Without insurance, the BYD Seal Performance AWD costs RM200,430 (Rs. 34.89 lakh) OTR. Upon its arrival in India, it is anticipated to cost more than Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, both of which are not sedan-specific vehicles. It faces competition in the electric vehicle (EV) sector from the Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4 on a global scale.

A coupe-like roofline and a slender rear profile characterize the Seal. The four-door model is a sophisticated fusion of contemporary design elements and classic contours.
