Mahindra XUV400 EV India Launch Tomorrow

The new XUV400 will be the brand’s first electric SUV and will take on the rivals like the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV

Mahindra is all set to officially unveil the new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV in India on September 8, 2022. This new electric SUV will take on the rivals like the Nexon EV and will be based on the XUV300 compact SUV. There will, however, be many changes that will distinguish the new XUV400 electric SUV from the standard XUV300 ICE iteration.

Starting with the exterior first, the new XUV400 will be significantly larger than the XUV300 and will boast a new and updated front fascia. In addition to the new front fascia, it will also get a redesigned rear design, a new copper twin peaks logo, and an exclusive light blue paint shade. Prominent changes include a new front grille, copper colour elements on the bumper, and new L-shaped LED DRLs.

Inside, the new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is likely to boast an updated dashboard layout and new colour scheme. Other changes include an updated touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, automatic climate control, and other features like connected car tech. We might also get features like a large sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, and a cooled glovebox with the new XUV400 electric SUV.

From what we know so far, the new XUV400 electric SUV will be offered with more than one powertrain option. The more powerful version is expected to boast a maximum power output of close to 150 bhp while the claimed range is expected to be around 400-450 km on a single charge.

The lower-spec versions however will get a smaller battery pack with a claimed range of around 300 km. The XUV400 electric SUV might also boast advanced safety features and is likely to be the first electric SUV to be offered with ADAS safety tech in the country.

Mahindra is yet to confirm the availability of all the advanced safety tech with the XUV400 electric SUV though. The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV price is likely to start from Rs 14-18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
