TVS Confirms Launching A New Motorcycle Tomorrow, New 160 4V?

TVS will bring in a new motorcycle tomorrow and is called as “The All New Racer’s Choice”; here we analyse what it could be

TVS Motor Company has today sent out an invitation stating that it is launching a new motorcycle tomorrow in the Indian market. It comes just weeks after the Ronin 225 made its market entry. The new offering will be introduced at 12 pm tomorrow in a virtual event and is described as “The All New Racer’s Choice”.

The Hosur-based manufacturer further calls it as ‘something all-new is around the corner’ and we do expect it to be the updated version of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. It must be noted that a test prototype of the 160 4V was spotted testing with a new exhaust system, stimulating the speculations that it could be more powerful.

However, it might also be testing to stick by the upcoming emission standards and no official confirmation has been made by the brand yet. With competition growing in the 160 cc segment, TVS could update the already loaded Apache 160 4V with a dual-channel ABS system considering that the all-new Bajaj Pulsar N160 comes with a better safety net.

We can expect new colour schemes and subtle cosmetic revisions to be part of the package and perhaps more performance could be fed into the already value-driven motorcycle with good handling characteristics. We will have to wait and see what really pans out though, or will TVS bring something brand new and surprise us?

The 225 cc oil-cooled powertrain in the Ronin is brand new and TVS could take advantage of it and bring in something new in a different segment. All we know is that it is exciting times to be a motorcycle enthusiast and we hope the “all-new”, “around the corner” motorcycle would deliver.

With the homegrown two-wheeler major further stressing on the racer and cornering part, it will likely be a road biased motorcycle instead of a dual-purpose adventure tourer based on the BMW G310 GS. Or the flagship Apache RR310 is getting another update or as the name suggests a track tool? Too many questions will be answered tomorrow we reckon!
