Volkswagen Group reaches a production milestone of 1 million units with the MEB electric platform

Volkswagen Group has attained a significant global milestone, surpassing 1 million MEB electric platform productions. The Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) was introduced in 2018 and serves as the foundation for numerous electric vehicles, such as the ID.3, ID.4 electric SUV, ID.5, and ID.6.

According to reports, the forthcoming ID.7 will also utilise this platform. Volkswagen Group’s five brands – Volkswagen, Audi, Cupra, Skoda, and Volkswagen commercials – and their eight facilities in the United States, Europe, and China collaborated to accomplish this remarkable feat.

Volkswagen recently introduced the long-wheelbase version of the ID Buzz EV for the global market, which is a thrilling development. As the successor to the legendary Samba Microbus, the ID Buzz signifies the company’s entrance into the international market. This MPV offers three interior configurations: a 5-seater, a 6-seater, and a 7-seater with a 2+3+2 layout. It measures 4,962mm in length, which is 250mm longer than the European base model, and has a wheelbase of 3,239mm. The new Volkswagen ID Buzz MPV is available with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain.

With the success of the MEB platform and the commitment of Volkswagen Group’s brands, the automotive giant’s electric mobility future appears promising.
