Abigail D. Phillip Biography: Abigail D. Phillip was born in Virginia, United States, to Carlos Philip, a teacher, and June, who is now a realtor. Having five siblings, she was raised as a person of Afro-Trinitarian heritage. Phillip’s family was forced to return to Trinidad and Tobago during her upbringing, but they returned to the United States as soon as he turned nine years old. In the same year, Flatiron Books extended a book contract to Phillip for her book “The Dream Deferred,” which chronicled the 1988 presidential campaign of Reverend Jesse Jackson. The publication date of the book is 2022. In 2021, Philip succeeded John King as “Inside Politics'” weekend host; however, Philip continues to serve as the show’s weekday host.
