They were in singing movies like “Janie” and “Kansas City Kitty” that same year. Kay Thompson and the Williams Brothers made their start in Las Vegas in 1947. Within a year, they were the highest-paid nightclub act in the world. The group broke up in 1953, and Williams began working on his solo music career. “Promise Me, Love,” his 1958 hit song, was in the top 20. He finally got his eighth record, “Danny Boy and Other Songs I Love to Sing,” out in 1961 on Columbia Records. It was a huge hit. He was the host of “The Andy Williams Show,” a weekly comedy show on TV in 1962, which won three Emmy Awards.

Williams married Claudine Longet in December 1961, and the two of them had three children. But in 1975, they got a divorce. After that, in 1991, he married Debbie Haas.
