Atharvaa Biography: Atharvaa Murali is an Indian actor who primarily appears in Tamil films. Atharvaa, the son of actor Murali and grandson of director S. Siddalingaiah, debuted in Baana Kaathadi (2010). Then, he received praise for his portrayal of a young man suffering from delusion in the romantic thriller Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (2012), before being cast in Bala’s period piece Paradesi (2013). His breakthrough performance as a rural villager held as a captive on a tea plantation earned Atharvaa the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Tamil.

Early years

Atharva was the second child to be born to actor Murali and his partner Shobha. Moreover, he has an older sister named Kavya and a younger sibling named Akash. He received his education at St. Michael’s Academy. He studied engineering at the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology.

Career

In 2009, Atharvaa was offered the main role in a film directed by Badri Venkatesh and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. Baana Kaathadi was published in August 2010 and starred Atharvaa and fellow newcomer actress Samantha. In just a few years, Atharvaa Murali has gone from a promising young actor to a versatile performer and bankable star, thanks primarily to his award-winning performance in the 2013 Tamil period film Paradesi. Son of the legendary Tamil actor Murali, he made his Kollywood début in 2010 with the romantic drama Baana Kaathadi, for which he won the Edison Award for Best Male début Actor.

In the 2013 period drama Paradesi, Atharvaa played a tea plantation labourer who was forced into slavery during the British Indian era. The film was a critical and commercial success, and its lead actor earned the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Tamil) and the Special Jury Award at that year’s Chennai International Film Festival. Atharvaa’s solitary 2017 release was the romantic comedy Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum, in which he starred alongside Soori in the title role. Her older sister’s name is Kavya Murali, and her older brother’s name is Akasj Murali.
