Early Years

Born on 13 May 1984, Benny Dayal is an Indian playback vocalist. He is a prominent vocalist in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati and Marathi and more languages films. He has performed over 3500 tunes in 19 or more Indian languages. Dayal is a member of the ensemble S5, which was formed by SS Music TV.[1] In the suspenseful Malayalam film By the People, he made his acting debut. All the songs were performed by members of S5, at which point A.R. Rahman noticed him and invited him to audition.

Career

Benny Dayal has sung over 2000 tunes in 16 Indian languages. And that is incredible! He is also a brand ambassador for the SS Music TV-launched music group designated “S5”

The actor made his debut in the Malayalam film titled ‘By The People’. It was a suspenseful thriller, and all the tracks were performed by S5 members. At that time, the veteran vocalist and musician A.R.Rahman discovered Dayal and invited him to audition.

Benny Dayal also worked for RR Donnelley as an Event Coordinator. Later, he quit his position at BPO to pursue a career in music. He then married his fiancée Catherine Thangam in Bengaluru in 2016.

Throughout his extensive music career, Dayal won numerous accolades, including the RD Burman Award for New Music Talent at the 54th Filmfare accolades for the song ‘Kaise Mujhe Tu Milgai’ (Ghajini). In 2009, the performer also won the Stardust Awards- Max Stardust Awards for New Musical Sensation- Pappu Can’t Dance Sala’ for ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, among numerous other accolades.

Dayal’s parents are natives of Kerala’s Kollam district. Born and educated in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, he graduated from Abu Dhabi Indian School (ADIS). He earned a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Journalism from Madras Christian College.

Dayal worked at RR Donnelley as an Events Coordinator. He left his BPO position to pursue a career in music. The singer married his model fiancée Catherine Thangam in a small ceremony in Bengaluru on June 5, 2016.
