Five million copies of the album were sold in the United States, and it was awarded two Grammys.

Seger released his “Greatest Hits” album in 1994, just before taking a ten-year hiatus. His first album since 1996’s “Face the Promise” was released in 2006. Seger announced his farewell tour on September 18, 2018, following the release of his 18th studio album. He has also released six compilation albums and two live albums.
