Jane Lynn Spears was born in Kentwood, Louisiana, on December 2, 1981. Her parents are James Spears and Lynne Bridges. Spears liked to sing and dance from a very young age. She took dance lessons and started entering singing contests in her area. She tried out for “The New Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” on Disney Channel when she was eight years old. One of the producers liked her and put her in touch with an agent in New York, even though she didn’t get the job. She tried out again when she was 11 and finally got the part. The show was dropped after her second season, though, so she went into music instead.
Spears made a deal with Jive Records and began working with professional producers and writers. Around this time, she put out the song “Baby One More Time,” which was on her first album with the same name (1999). As expected, the record made Spears’ career go through the roof and became the start of her rise to fame as a pop star. It was called “Oops! I Did It Again” and it was another big hit. The title track became a hit right away and is still important today. In later years, Spears understood that she needed to accept that her fans were growing up if she wanted her career to last.
This is why her next record, “Britney,” showed her as more grown up (2001). While not as popular as her other records, this one did pretty well in the market. Singles like “Toxic,” “Everytime,” and “Me Against the Music” from her next record, “In the Zone,” show a much more sexual side of her. Spears kept putting out good records over the years, such as “Blackout” (2007), “Circus” (2008), “Femme Fatale” (2011), “Britney Jean” (2013), and “Glory” (2016).
Before she was married to Kevin Federline, Spears was married to Jason Alexander. Fedele has two kids with her. Recently, she was in the news because of the legal fight over her guardianship with her family, especially her father. Because of this, the #FreeBritney effort was made to help her.
