Carrie Underwood Biography: Carrie Marie Underwood was born in Checotah, Oklahoma, on March 10, 1983, and raised on her parents’ farm. Carrie’s passion for singing began in this small town when, at the age of three, she sang in the local church. As she performed at various local events in Checotah, people realised early on that her voice would take her far, which eventually led to her career breakthrough moment, the audition for and victory on American Idol.

Carrie Underwood Birthday

Underwood was raised alongside her two older sisters on the family farm by both of her parents. Her father was a paper mill worker, and her mother was an elementary school teacher. As explained in her book “Find Your Path,” Underwood’s hometown lacked glitz and glamour, but was full of “wide-open spaces, pastures, and scattered woods, family farms, and decent people.” She was not only passionate about singing from an early age, but also animals, sports, and exploring the outdoors with her friends.

She enjoyed performing at church and events in Checotah, Oklahoma, which led to her Capitol Records audition. Her contract was ready, but a management change at the label led to its cancellation. Not only did she graduate from Northeastern State University in 2004, but she also had her breakthrough audition during season four of American Idol. In May 2005, she won two awards, including Simon Cowell’s ultimate favouritism and, of course, the title of American Idol season four champion. After winning American Idol, Underwood released her debut album and went on to win two awards at the 40th Annual Country Music Awards and five awards at the 2005 Billboard Music Awards. After 2005, Underwood’s list of honours only grew!

In 2008, Underwood met her husband and the father of her children, National Hockey League star Mike Fisher. Mike proposed a year later, in 2009, and they were married in 2010. Underwood and Fisher gave birth to their first child in 2015, and she had three miscarriages before giving birth to their second child in 2019. After 12 years of marriage and becoming the loving parents of their two sons, the couple’s personal and professional lives continue to flourish.
