However, it is documented that his mother was of Ethiopian descent from East Africa. He has been intrigued in rapping since he was a young child. In the 1990s, Reese began his career by performing freestyle and contending as a battle rapper. As Reese developed as an artist, he shifted his focus to writing hip-hop compositions albums.

His debut album, “Split Personality,” was published in 2004, and the album’s lead single, “My Drink n My 2 Step,” features a vocal appearance and production by none other than his mentor Swizz Beatz. Reese then released several additional singles, including “I’m a Hustla” and “B-Boy Stance,” as well as his second studio album, “I’m a Hustla” (2005). Unfortunately, Reese’s popularity was marred by a number of issues. In 2005, he was apprehended after a firefight in which one person was slain. He was accused with murder and weapons possession. Reese was facing charges of third-degree murder when he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, assault, and unlawful weapon possession. The rapper was released on March 2, 2006 after serving an eight-month sentence.

After being released from prison in 2006, he began working on his third studio album, “B.A.R.S: The Barry Adrian Reese Story”, which was released in 2007. In 2009, Reese departed “Full Surface” and joined “Kross Over Entertainment.” Under this label, he released a series of mixtapes in 2010 as well as his fourth studio album, “C.A.S.H: Cass a Straight Hustla.” Unfortunately, the endeavour performed worse than any of his previous studio albums, selling just 5,200 copies in its first week of release. Reese has also released a number of CDs, including “Da Science” (2020), “Da Formula” (2020), and “Da Wiseman” (2021).
