Common dropped out of college after two years to pursue a career in music. Like Water for Chocolate was his first major label release in 2000, and it was both commercially and critically successful. He continued to perform and release albums, including “Be” (2005), “Universal Mind Control” (2008), “Nobody’s Smiling” (2014), and “Let Love” (2019). “Black America Again” was released in 2016 and “A Glorious Revolution, Pt. 1” will be released in 2020.
