Early Life
On January 2, 1975, Randall Shepard was born in Milford, Michigan’s Milford Charter Township. He is the son of auto salesman David Robert “Dave” Shepard, Sr. and Laura LaBo, who works for General Motors. When he was three years old, his parents separated. Between the ages of 14 and 18, Shepard traveled from racetrack to racecourse while working for his mother on the road. For almost two years, Shepard’s stepfather was an engineer on the Corvette. Shepard claims that he had three stepfathers and that his mother had been married four times. Shepard has claimed that, although having resided in several Detroit suburbs, most notably Walled Lake, he was reared in Milford.
Career
After graduating from Walled Lake Central High School in 1993, Shepard went to The Groundlings. Shepard attended West Los Angeles College and Santa Monica College before relocating to UCL.A., where she graduated with honors in anthropology with a B.A. Shepard spent a year in Santa Barbara, California, before moving to Los Angeles in 1996. Through his buddy Kareem Elseify in Santa Barbara, he found out about The Groundlings improv troupe, and he auditioned and enrolled in classes while attending university.
Shepard costarred with Matthew Lillard and Seth Green in the 2004 movie “Without a Paddle.” He played the astronaut in the science fiction adventure fantasy movie “Zathura: A Space Adventure” in 2005.
