D’Avanzo, who was born in Albania on February 6, 1976 to Kadima and Nezir Selmani, is of Albanian ancestry. D’Avanzo’s family moved to Staten Island when she was a young child, where she spent the majority of her life. D’Avanzo played soccer as a child, and her father, a coach, instructed her. She attended Susan Wagner High School in the 1990s and played goalie. Her passion, however, was entertainment rather than athletics. D’Avanzo appeared in an episode of the spinoff “Big Ang” in 2012. She took her passion for cosmetics to the next level in February 2014 when she opened her ‘Lady Boss’ store. Her makeup line, fashion items, and other collections were available at the store. In August of 2017, D’Avanzo announced her participation in “Scared Famous.” Four episodes of the show feature her.

D’Avanzo got married to Lee D’Avanzo in 2000. Her husband was part of the New Springville Boys gang, so one can say that D’Avanzo married into the mob. Although she and her husband were arrested for drug and firearm possession in 2019, her charges were dismissed. In contrast, her husband is currently incarcerated for robbing a Staten Island bank. He is due for release in July 2024. Together, the couple has two daughters.
