Dwayne Johnson Birthday

Dwayne Douglas Johnson, also known as The Rock, is an American actor, wrestler, and entrepreneur. Although he was born into a wrestling family, he has made his own reputation in the sport. Johnson was born on May 2, 1972 in Hayward, California. His father, professional wrestler Rocky Johnson, and his mother, Ata, are his parents. Peter Maivia, his paternal grandfather, ascended to prominence in the 1960s and 1970s as ‘High Chief.’ The majority of Johnson’s childhood was spent travelling with his parents and watching his father compete in the arena. Johnson began playing football during his senior year of high school, and he quickly received a full scholarship to the University of Miami, where he excelled. In the same year, he earned Bachelor of General Studies degrees in criminology and physiology.

Johnson attempted professional wrestling in the United States Wrestling Association under the name ‘Flex Kavana’, following in his father’s footsteps. As Rocky Maivia, Johnson entered the World Wrestling Federation in 1996, becoming a member of the Nation of Domination. In contrast, wrestling was only the beginning. In his acting debut, Johnson portrayed his father in an episode of “That ’70s Show.” Additionally, he appeared in “The Scorpion King” (2002). The majority of his early film roles were action-oriented, including “The Rundown” (2003) and “Doom” (2005).

In the years that followed, Johnson acted in a variety of genres. He appeared in “Southland Tales” (2006), “The Game Plan” (2007), and “The Other Guys” (2010), a comedy by Will Ferrell. It wasn’t until his role as Luke Hobbs in “Fast Five” (2011) that Johnson’s transition from wrestler to actor with genuine Hollywood charisma occurred. Following his entrée into the “Fast & Furious” universe, he had roles in “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” in 2013. In “Fast & Furious 6” (2013), “Furious 7” (2015), and “Fate of the Furious” (2016), he reprised his Hobbs character. In between these roles, Johnson appeared alongside Kevin Hart in “Central Intelligence” (2016).

He went on to become a voice actor and portrayed Maui in “Moana” (2016). In the television programme “Ballers,” Johnson portrayed Spencer Strasmore. He also appeared alongside Kevin Hart in “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (2017) and “Jumanji: The Next Level” (2019). Two additional films starring Johnson were released in 2018: “Rampage” (2018), based on a video game, and “Skyscraper” (2018). In the “Fast & Furious” offshoot “Hobbs & Shaw,” his character Luke Hobbs collaborated with Jason Statham. Johnson subsequently co-starred with Emily Blunt in the 2020 Disney-inspired “Jungle Cruise”
