In 2011, when she was eight years old and first became aware of the issue, she could not comprehend why it was not taken more seriously. She changed her own habits within a few years, becoming a vegan and refusing to travel by aeroplane. She also persuaded her parents to reduce their carbon footprint and follow suit.
