Early Life of Jake Bequette

George Jules “Jake” Bequette III was born on February 21, 1989. He is an army officer in the American Army and used to play defensive end for the American football team. He was a part of Operation Inherent Resolve and served in Iraq.

With the 90th pick in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Patriots picked him up. He played football for the University of Arkansas and Catholic High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. He also played football in college.

Bequette was thought to be a good defensive end prospect for that year’s draft. He tried to get the Republican nomination for Arkansas’s Senate seat in 2022 but failed.

Career

Jake Bequette was born in Little Rock to George Jules Bequette III. Bequette finished high school at Little Rock Catholic. Bequette played college football for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks from 2007 to 2011. He did this after high school.

During his career, he played in 48 games and started 42 of them. He had 140 stops and 23.5 sacks. As a senior, he was picked for the Southeastern Conference’s first team.

Coach Bequette named Bequette the Defensive MVP of the 2012 Cotton Bowl after he helped the Arkansas Razorbacks beat Kansas State 29–16 in 2011. The 2011 season ended with the Razorbacks having an 11-2 record and being ranked No. 5 in both polls.

At the end of the game, Bequette had three QB sacks and five stops. Bequette is the third generation in his family to play for Arkansas. His uncle, father Jay, and grandpa George all did the same.

In the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots picked Bequette. He competed in three events in 2012 and five in 2013. He was waived by the Patriots on August 30, 2014, as part of their final cuts to the squad.

While he was with the Patriots, he didn’t get much playing time. But soon after the 2014 cuts, he went back to the practice squad. When Bequette played for the Patriots in 2014, they won the Super Bowl.

Before the 2015 season, the Patriots switched Bequette from defensive end to tight end. It was August 28, 2015, and Bequette got past waivers. The Patriots then put him on injured reserve. He was made a free agent on September 4, 2015, and was let go after getting paid for his injuries.
