Jay Park is the stage name of Korean-American rapper, record producer, performer, and singer-songwriter Jae-beom Park.
Jay Park Biography: Park Jae-beom, better known by his stage name Jay Park, was born on April 25, 1987. In Edmonds, Washington, his parents Mi-Jung Choi and Yong-jun Park raised him. His most notable accomplishment is being the leader of the Korean musical boy band 2PM. In addition to producing his own music, he has also founded his A.O.M.G. and H1GHR MUSIC music labels in South Korea.

He attended Edmonds Woodway and has stated that he listened to a great deal of rap music in his early years, spending time in high school writing and rapping compositions. In 2003, Park joined the b-boy collective Art of Movement. He subsequently became the leader of the Korean boy band 2PM. Park first gained fame as the main singer of 2PM, which prompted him to return to Korea in June 2010 to film “Hype Nation,” a 2014 drama film. In July of 2010, he inked a contract with SidusHQ, one of South Korea’s largest entertainment companies, to launch his solo career as a singer and rapper.
Park earned his bachelor’s degree from Dankook University. During the same period, he was also chosen by J.Y.P. Entertainment, where he received training in dancing, rhyming, singing, and Korean. Following the release of his mini-album “Take a Deeper Look,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard World Albums chart, his debut EP “Count on Me” debuted at the top of the listings in Korea.
