She was born in Stamford, Connecticut, on December 1, 1978, and is the oldest of three girls. Dmitrios R. Psaki and Eileen Medvey had a child together. There are Greek, Irish, and Polish roots in Psaki. Her name is Sheryl and she is American. She finished from Greenwich High School in 1996. It was in 2000 that she got her degree in English and Sociology from the College of William & Mary. The Psaki joined the sorority Chi Omega and swam backstroke for two years on the sports team William & Mary Tribe.

She got her start in politics in 2001 when she helped Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin and Tom Vilsack win their re-elections. While John Kerry was running for president in 2004, Psaki worked as his deputy press secretary. It was then that Psaki worked as the communications director for U.S. Representative Joseph Crowley. Obama ran for president in 2008, and she was his international press secretary. She moved into the White House and became Obama’s Press Secretary after he won. Psaki was given the title of deputy media director in December 2009.

It was in September 2011 that she quit her job to become senior vice president and managing director at the public relations office in Washington, D.C. In 2012, she came back as a press secretary for Obama’s re-election campaign. In February 2013, she became the spokeswoman for the US Department of State. Starting in February 2017, Psaki worked as a political analyst on CNN. She quit in November 2022 to join the Biden-Harris transition team. She was made press secretary for Joe Biden’s government that same year.

Gregory Mecher, who Psaki married, used to be the chief of staff to both Steve Driehaus and Joe Kennedy, who are both lawmakers. They are married and have two kids together.
