Garcia was best known as a founding member of the legendary rock band The Grateful Dead, where he served as lead guitarist, lead songwriter, and lead vocalist. Garcia was also the leader of his ensemble, the ‘Jerry Garcia ensemble (J.G.B.)’. In the middle of the 1970s, he founded The Jerry Garcia Band. This group also performed rock music influenced by blues, folk, country, and jazz.
