Jonathan Davis Biography: Born on January 18, 1971, Jonathan Howsmon Davis is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. The band Korn, considered a pioneer in the nu-metal genre, is best recognized for having him as its lead singer and leader. A later generation of performers and musicians were affected by Davis’ unique style and Korn’s music. His tragic and abusive upbringing is the reason behind his music’s reputation for being melancholic and addressing issues of abuse and emotional trauma. It’s his special day, so we hope he has an absolute blast!
In Bakersfield, California, Rick Davis and Holly Chavez gave birth to Jonathan Davis. When Davis was three years old, his parents separated, and his father adopted him to raise him with his new spouse Lily. He was assaulted both emotionally and sexually as a child, which led to a difficult upbringing. His father’s divorce resulted from his turbulent relationship with his stepmother, who used to physically abuse him. He received his diploma from Highland High School in 1989. He also attended the San Francisco School of Mortuary Science to study mortuary science. Because Davis was not like the other kids, he was bullied at school all the time.
In 1987, while still in high school, Davis started doing stand-up comedy as JDevil. Korn was created in 1993 when Jeff Creath, the owner of Underground Chicken Sounds recording facility, let Davis live in his garage. After starting to play concerts, they were caught in 1993 while having a show at Huntington Beach. In 1994, the band’s self-titled debut was released. Child maltreatment and drug addiction were two topics close to Davis’s heart and were the basis of the album. Released in 2002, “Untouchables,” Korn’s fifth studio album, became an instant smash with metal fans and was certified platinum.
The song “Here to Stay” sold five million copies worldwide and was recognized with a Grammy. “Korn III: Remember Who You Are” (2010), “The Path of Totality” (2011), and “The Paradigm Shift” (2012) are some of the latter releases. In December 2017, Davis started to share information about his 2018 solo album release as well as dates for his solo tour and festival appearances. In January 2018, Davis dropped his debut solo track, “What It Is.” On May 25, 2018, Sumerian Records released “Black Labyrinth,” his debut solo album.
He was wed to Renee Perez from 1998 to 2000; the two of them have a son named Nathan. He wed the former porn star Deven Davis in 2004. Their two sons are Zeppelin and Pirate. Citing “irreconcilable differences,” he filed for divorce in October 2016. In 2006, Davis was diagnosed with an unusual bleeding disorder called idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (I.T.P.). This illness left him bedridden for days, but he now takes medication to treat it.

Jonathan Davis writes distinctively. Most singers of his era were happy to cover song contents in metaphors that were so vague that was nearly hard to figure out what they meant. Korn’s self-titled debut left little room for interpretation as it directly addressed issues including drug addiction, child abuse, and sadness.
Since the release of Korn’s self-titled album more than 25 years ago, Davis has been able to lead the band through tens of thousands of album sales. Davis overcame challenges and abuse as a child that many people would find impossible to handle, and he used his grief to become well-known in the nu-metal genre.
The singer’s youngest kid, Zeppelin, needs daily insulin injections due to his Type 1 diabetes. About his son’s struggle with diabetes, Davis wrote the book “So Unfair,” from which he gave all of the proceeds to the American nonprofit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (J.D.R.F.), which aims to find a cure.
Jonathan Davis had severe asthma as a child; at age five, a severe attack almost took his life.
Duran Duran was Davis’s favorite band when he was little.
When he was working at a funeral home, a clairvoyant who had no idea he was a musician promised him he would become renowned for fronting a rock band.
Howsmon is Davis’ middle name, and he gave it to all three of his children.
Davis’s stepmother mistreated him when he was ill by forcing him to drink tea spiked with jalapeño juice and Thai hot oil.
