She had already begun working for Pampers and Target by the age of three, and for a three-day photography competition hosted by Parents Magazine, she was flown to New York. She has also worked for the Disney Store, Disney Jr., Lands End, Walmart, Leap Frog, and Hallmark, among other notable brands. James made his cinematic debut in the short film titled “Young Yuna.” Additionally, she appears alongside Julia Roberts in the Amazon Original series “Homecoming” and the Facebook Watch series “Five Points.” She can be observed in the F.B.E. series “Kids React” on YouTube.
James’s performance as Ami on the Netflix series “Family Reunion,” in which award-winning actresses Lorretta Devine and Tia Mowry also appear, is widely recognized. In addition to her role as the youngest sibling in a family relocating from a major metropolitan area to the South, the series addresses numerous contemporary family concerns such as bereavement, economic instability, and racial inequity. Due to its wholesome subject matter, the program has become a Netflix favorite after three seasons. At the 52nd National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (N.A.A.C.P.)
