Moore began her career as a model at the age of 14. In January of 1992, she was featured on the cover of the Chicago-based “Ebony Man” magazine. She was also a model for the cosmetic company Ebony Fashion Fair.
Moore was a victim of domestic abuse at the age of 16 at the hands of her 26-year-old boyfriend, who, in Moore’s words, “mentally and physically harassed me and once nearly killed me by putting me in the hospital after attacking and stabbing me.” Moore attended secondary school and graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1989. Moore earned the titles of ‘Miss Michigan USA (1993)’ and ‘Miss USA’ in the same year, at the age of 22. She was the second African American woman in history to win Miss USA. Kenya Moore attended Wayne State University after graduating from high school, majoring in psychology and communication.
Moore is well-known for her role in the 2008-airing series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” In 2021, she was also a cast member on “The Celebrity Apprentice 7” and a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars.” She introduced her own brand of hair care products and a workout video. She has starred in numerous films and television shows, including “Deliver Us From Eva” (2003), “Senseless” (1998), and “The Steve Harvey Show,” a sitcom from 1996.
