Larry was born on July 2, 1947, in Brooklyn to Rose and Mortimer “Monty” David. His eldest brother’s name is Ken. His ancestry is Jewish. After graduating from Sheepshead Bay High School, Larry attended the University of Maryland. He was a member of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity during his college years. He realised in college that he made people giggle simply by being himself.
