Lockie Ferguson Career

Ferguson began playing first-class cricket in the 2012-13 domestic season for Auckland in the Plunket Shield Tournament. It took him two years to become influential in the tournament. After very average performances in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 domestic seasons, he eventually made an impact in the 2014-15 season by taking a total of 21 wickets. He repeated the feat the following season by capturing a total of 31 wickets, earning him a spot on the national team.

IPL Professional Career

Lockie Ferguson is an active Indian Premier League footballer. In 2017, he was a Rising Pune Supergiants player after being acquired for INR 50 lakhs. He even received the Man of the Match award against Royal Challengers Bangalore for taking two wickets for only seven runs. Lockie was subsequently recruited into the KKR squad in 2019, where he played just five games. He did not have many wickets in the wickets column, but in 2020 he hopes to have a much stronger season.

International Career

Career in ODIs

Lockie made his ODI debut against Australia in December 2016, when he replaced the ailing Adam Milne. He took advantage of his opportunity by dismissing David Warner in the first over.

However, his subsequent overs were poor, and by the conclusion of the innings he had allowed 73 runs. The match was lost by 68 runs, and he was dismissed from the team. Lockie Ferguson was recalled for the third match between Australia and New Zealand in December, but he was unable to capitalize on the opportunity by capturing wickets.

He was named to New Zealand’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April. On June 5, 2019, against Bangladesh, Ferguson captured his 50th ODI wicket. Lockie Ferguson played 9 games in the tournament, including the Final, and finished second with 21 wickets, trailing Mitchell Starc’s total of 27 wickets.

T20I Career

In January 2017, Lockie was granted the opportunity to play T20 against Bangladesh, where he took two wickets with his first two deliveries. In the game, he claimed three wickets and was praised for his performance. Lockie’s T20I career is still in its infancy, but he has already played 8 games and claimed 14 wickets at an impressive 15.85 average.
