In college, he performed his first show at the Parthenon Cafe. With less than a year until graduation, he dropped out of college to pursue a career in music. His first two extended plays, “The Way She Rides” and “Can I Get an Outlaw,” were released in 2014. Hurricane gained momentum and debuted at number 46 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. In 2017, he released “This One’s For You,” his third extended play. It did not take long for him to gain the attention of music enthusiasts. He appeals to a wide variety of audiences with his classic blend of contemporary and country music.
After signing a record deal with Sony Music Nashville, he re-released his hit single, ‘Hurricane.’ This time, it climbed to the top of the country music airplay chart and remained there for two weeks. Combs released his debut album, “This One’s For You,” in June 2017. It reached number one on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and number five on the U.S. Billboard 200 in its first week of release. On January 8, 2018, he released the deluxe edition of the album, which featured five additional tracks. Two of the five songs, ‘She Got the Better of Me’ and ‘Beautiful Crazy,’ topped the Billboard Hot 100. His second album, “What You See Is What You Get,” was released on November 8, 2019. The album features four number-one singles on the U.S. Country charts: “Even Though I’m Leaving,” “Does to Me,” “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” and “Lovin’ on Me.” Combs released the deluxe version of his second album, “What You See Isn’t What You Get,” on October 23, 2020. The album track ‘Forever After All’ broke streaming records on Apple Music and Spotify.
In 2016, Combs revealed that he was dating Nicole Hocking, and on August 1, 2020, the couple tied the knot in Florida. In the spring of 2022, Combs and Hocking are expecting their first child. Combs has struggled with anxiety and primarily cognitive obsessive-compulsive disorder, but he has learned to better manage these conditions with the help of his family.
