Monni Kwamboka Nyaribo Biography: Monni Kwamboka Nyaribo is the first Kenyan-American of her generation to win the title of Miss North Dakota. She is the pageant’s first Black winner. Nyaribo aspires to become an ambassador for the United Nations, and she is working to pass the CROWN Act, “Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair,” in North Dakota to prevent racism against individuals who wear their hair naturally.
Miss North Dakota USA 2023 was crowned Monni Nyaribo of Badlands on June 11 at the Watertown Event Center in Watertown, South Dakota. This autumn, the 27-year-old North Dakota State University BBA in marketing graduate will represent North Dakota at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada.
The first, second, third, and fourth runners-up were announced as Morgan Layton (Minot), Haley Helmin (Fargo), Chelsey Faye Morlock (Dunn County), and Lauren Cannon (Jamestown), respectively.

Monni Kwamboka Nyaribo Biography: As a devoted Kenyan-American, the new Miss North Dakota USA aspires to serve as an inspiration to young women who share her skin tone. She posted on social media, “I pray every little black girl who is watching knows she is worthy of love. They are deserving of triumph.”
Monni also discussed her foundation and social impact initiative “Find Your Match,” which grew out of her own life-changing experience with exhaustion in her twenties. It seeks to eliminate hustle culture and promote burnout prevention awareness.
Sunday’s festivities culminated with the coronation of Miss North Dakota Teen USA 2023 representing Fargo, Morgan Schwindt. She will now compete later this year for Miss Teen USA 2023.
