Morgan York was born in Burbank, California, a Los Angeles County suburb, on January 18, 1993. In 2015, York graduated from the University of Redlands with a self-designed degree in “Writing Fiction: Listening, Absorbing, and Creating.” This educational background established the groundwork for her career as a novelist for young adults.

Morgan York’s Acting Profession

At the age of 18 months, York made her screen debut in a commercial for the Braun ThermoScan Thermometer. In 2003, she portrayed Kim Baker in “Cheaper by the Dozen”; this was her first significant film role.

Together with her co-stars, this performance earned her the Young Artist Award for “Best Young Ensemble in a Feature Film.” She continued to acquire recognition for her acting abilities in “The Pacifier” and “Hannah Montana.” In 2010, however, after having appeared in eleven episodes of “Hannah Montana,” York retired from acting.

Career in Writing for Morgan

Following his retirement from acting, York pursued a vocation as a fantasy novelist. She co-founded Bad Address Media, a company that produces podcasts based on fiction.

York is also a production editor for the BFYR and Paula Wiseman imprints at Simon & Schuster, where she oversees a collection of picture books, middle-grade novels, and young adult novels.

Why Did Morgan York Quit Acting?

As she aged, her interest in writing grew, and she ultimately decided to retire from acting to concentrate on writing young adult novels. This decision was expressed in a 2012 blog post in which she stated, “The older I got, the more I felt that writing was my true calling.”
