Ozzy Osbourne: Early Life

In the music and entertainment business, Ozzy Osbourne does a lot of different things. Besides his other name, “The Prince of Darkness,” he was born in Aston, Birmingham, on December 3, 1948. He was born to John Thomas “Jack” Osbourne and Lilian. His father made tools for the General Electric Company, and his mother worked in a workshop. Jean, Iris, Gillian, Paul, and Tony were his four older sisters and two younger brothers. They all grew up with him. It wasn’t easy for him in elementary school. He had trouble reading and writing, and when he was 11, he was sexually abused. He stopped going to school when he was 15 and worked as a temporary worker on a building site. Ozzy Osbourne also worked as a junior toolmaker, as a horn-tuner in a car factory, and as a worker in a slaughterhouse.

Ozzy Osbourne: Career

“Rare Breed” was Osbourne’s first show. Geezer Butler put together the band and then hired Osbourne to sing lead. After they broke up the band, Osbourne, Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward formed “Polka Tulk Blues.” They changed their name twice before deciding on “Black Sabbath” in 1969. This came from the movie “Black Sabbath.” Their music had dark sounds and words that were heavy on the blues. He wrote the words to “Black Sabbath” after reading a book about the occult and seeing dark forms at the end of the bed. On their first record, “Black Sabbath” and “Paranoid” were huge hits that kept going strong. When they put out “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” in 1973, they were the first band to get good reviews from major publications. It was also their fifth album to sell one million copies.

Ozzy Osbourne: Personal Life

After Osbourne left “Black Sabbath,” he had a very successful career running his own show. After being on the TV show “The Osbournes” as himself with his wife Sharon and two of their three kids, Kelly and Jack, he also became a reality TV star.
