Patrick Stewart Birthday

On July 13, 1940, Gladys Stewart and Alfred Stewart gave birth to Patrick Stewart. Trevor and Geoffrey are his elder siblings. His preferred institutions were Crowley Church of England Junior and Infants School and Mirfield Secondary Modern School. Cecil Dormand, an English teacher at Crowley Church of England Junior and Infants School, encouraged his acting aptitude and persuaded him to appear in Shakespearean plays. Stewart began performing at the age of 12 and participated in community drama groups. At the age of 15, he began working as a junior reporter and obituary writer for the “Mirfield & District Reporter” but quit when the newspaper’s editor asked him to choose between writing and acting. He worked as a furniture salesman for a year to save money before enrolling in and completing an 80-day drama course at a theatre school. In 1957, he enrolled at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Several years later, he made his professional debut at the Lincoln Repertory Theatre, followed by the Library Theatre in Manchester.

In 1966, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he remained until the early 1980s. In 1971, he made his Broadway debut as Snout in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare. After being cast as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the science fiction series “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” which aired from 1987 to 1994, he rose to international prominence and relocated to Los Angeles in 1987. In the 2000 American blockbuster “X-Men,” in which he portrayed Professor Xavier, he garnered a great deal of attention, and he also appeared in the film’s two sequels. Due to his impeccable British accent, he received requests to contribute his voice to comedic cartoon characters in television programmes. He lent his voice to animated films such as “Gnomeo & Juliet,” which was published in 2011, and “Ice Age: Continental Drift,” which was released in 2012. Stewart prefers to perform at the Shakespearean Theatre, where he was trained, even though he has a sterling reputation on Broadway.

In 1966, Stewart wed Sheila Falconer, but the couple divorced in 1990. They have a daughter named Sophia and a son named Daniel. He married Wendy Neuss on August 25, 2000, and they divorced three years later. Stewart began courting Sunny Ozell in 2008. The announcement of their engagement was made in March 2013, and they were married in September 2013.
