In Chiswick, London, the United Kingdom, Phil Collins was born. His mother, June Collins, worked as a theatrical agent, while his father, Greville Collins, was an insurance agent. He was drawn to the performing arts by his mother’s profession. He grew up going to the theaters with his mother, and he loved watching the performers. His parents bought him a drum set and put him in the Barbara Speake arts training school when he was five years old. His acting and singing abilities were honed at Barbara Speake.

Career

He portrayed the deft dodger in a British version of “Oliver” when he was fourteen years old. In “A Hard Day’s Night” and “Calamity the Cow,” he also had supporting parts. Later on, he became a drummer for the rock group Genesis. Genesis’ lead singer left in 1975, and Collins took over. The intended replacement was only to be a stand-in. But he had to stay because he did so well. Collins made his singing debut on the album “A Trick of the Tail.” It was a hit and solidified his position as the band’s lead singer.

Still, his solo performances accounted for the majority of his achievements. “Face Value,” his debut solo album, was released in 1981. It was a huge triumph. In 1982, he released “Hello I Must Be Going,” which was equally successful. “No Jacket Required,” his best project, was released in 1985. On the charts, the album peaked. Throughout his career, he also made numerous film appearances. Among them are “Hooks,” “Frauds,” and “Balto.” Throughout his career, Collins has sold over 100 million copies of albums, making him one of the most successful performers ever.
