Orton was raised alongside two siblings. He graduated in 1998 from Hazelwood Central High School as an amateur wrestler.

The wrestler made his début in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2000. In 2001, he inked a contract with the World Wrestling Federation and was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling in Louisville, Kentucky, for training. Early in his tenure, Orton suffered numerous defeats. In April of 2002, he defeated Hardcore Holly in his first televised W.W.F match. Before sustaining a shoulder injury, he was transferred to the Raw Brand and defeated Stevie Richards. As Orton’s health improved, he joined the Evolution stable, which included Ric Flair, Triple H, and Batista. He won the World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Chris Benoit in 2004. After his victory, Orton departed Evolution stable due to its members’ physical ridicule. A month later, Triple H won the World Heavyweight Championship from Orton. In 2007, Orton defeated John Cena in a rematch to win the W.W.E. Championship after Cena was disqualified for refusing to stop striking him in the corner. Cena, however, retained the title. In 2010, he claimed the W.W.E. Championship in an elimination six-pack challenge match. In 2011, Orton was cast in a supporting role in “That’s What I Am.” In 2013, he starred in “12 Rounds 2: Reloaded,” and in 2015, he starred in “The Condemned 2.” In 2018, he became the 18th Grand Slam Champion. Nonetheless, Orton surrendered the championship to Jinder Mahal. Orton’s signature move as a professional wrestler is dubbed the R.K.O. This move is a jumping variation of a cutter.
