His dad was also a pimp and a scammer. When he was 10, his mother left him and his grandma raised him in a bad way.

The next album he put out in 1976 won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Recording in 1977. “Stir Crazy,” which came out in 1980, made him a million dollars for his part. After three years, Pryor signed a $40 million, five-year deal with Columbia Pictures.
