This motivated her to co-found the Daughters’ Pride Foundation, an organization dedicated to educating young African females. A young woman living in poverty without an education is more likely to be a victim of child sexual abuse, forced into an early marriage, and infected with HIV/AIDS, and has almost no chance of fleeing the cycle of poverty.

The objective is for volunteer bakers to create a custom cake for the ill child or their sibling that provides a transient escape from worry and creates a positive memory during a challenging time.
