Shai Diego Hope, the wicketkeeper/batsman for the West Indies cricket team, was born in Barbados on November 10, 1993. Originally, Hope played cricket for Barbados. Shai Hope International Career

Hope made his debut against England in his inaugural Test on May 1, 2015. In August 2016, he was named to the West Indies squad in preparation for their Test series against India.

Hope played Sri Lanka in the inaugural One Day International (ODI) of the tri-series. In pursuit of 257 runs against Zimbabwe in the second ODI of the same tour, he scored 101 to record his first ODI century. Notwithstanding the fact that his goal was inconsequential in the draw, which marked the inaugural in a One Day International (ODI) between the two teams and the 34th altogether, he was bestowed with the player of the match award.

Hope scored his inaugural century in a Test match against England on August 25, 2017. Together with Kraigg Brathwaite, he contributed 246 runs, which brought the West Indies’ grand total to 427. Hope scored his second century and guided the West Indies to a five-wicket victory as they pursued down a target of 322 in the second innings. Additionally, Brathwaite and Hope scored 144 runs in the second inning. The West Indies roster for the 2019 Cricket World Cup included Hope. The International Cricket Council (ICC) designated Hope as the primary member of the West Indies team prior to the competition. Hope made his 100th appearance for the West Indies in an international match on June 17, 2019, against Bangladesh. Hope scored 96 runs off 121 deliveries against Bangladesh on June 17 in Taunton, which included four fours and one six.

He was subsequently named to the 2019 ICC ODI Team of the Year. Hope was named to the West Indies Test squad for their June 2020 series against England.

On March 21, 2023, at Buffalo Park in East London, the Windies defeated South Africa in the second One-Day International of their 2023 tour, thanks to Hope’s 128 unblemished points. He joined Richie Richardson as the sole West Indian to score a century during his inaugural ODI captaincy with this innings. Subsequently, Hope and Heinrich Klaasen were named the players of the ODI series.
