Clarke was a member of the All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Class B team during his time at Rivers, where he displayed talent from the outset. After his freshman year, he transferred to Brewster Academy, where he helped his team achieve the 2019 National Prep Championships. Then, Clarke was selected for the McDonald’s All-American event, an annual basketball all-star event for Canadian and American high school basketball graduates. He was also named to the third team of Sports Illustrated’s All-Americans, which consists of the nation’s top high school seniors. As a consequence of his outstanding performance, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals each rated him as a five-star recruit. Clarke made his collegiate debut against the Morehead State Eagles men’s basketball team on November 25, 2020. Clarke was instrumental in his team’s 81–45 triumph, contributing 12 points, four assists, four rebounds, and three steals. This season, he participated in only eight games due to a right leg injury, including one in the SEC Tournament. On December 6, 2020, when his team faced the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, he tallied a career-high 22 points. He announced on March 19, 2021, that he would forego his remaining NCAA eligibility and enter the impending NBA draught. At the conclusion of his college career, Clarke has established himself as one of the best shooting guards in the class of 2020.
In anticipation of the 2021 NBA draught, Clarke joined Klutch Sports Group, a sports agency that represents prominent NBA players, on April 21, 2021. Clarke perished on April 22, 2021 in Los Angeles, California, after being involved in a car accident with teammate Brandon Boston Jr. following practise.
