Twista Biography: Carl Terrell Mitchell, born November 27, 1973, is a rapper and record producer from the United States. He is well-known for his chopper rapping method and for setting the Guinness World Record in 1992 for the fastest English-speaking rapper in the world, reciting 598 syllables in 55 seconds. In 2017, he made an appearance on ABC’s American television panel show, “To Tell the Truth.” He was a judge on the Netflix rap competition “Rhythm and Flow” two years later. Throughout the 2010 holiday season, he and his record label crew worked with the Chicago Food Bank’s Produce mobile program to feed the community’s poor. Carl Terrell Mitchell, better known as Twista, was born on November 27, 1973, in the West Garfield Park area of Chicago’s K-Town. He began rapping at the age of twelve.

Twista’s first album, “Runnin’ Off at da Mouth,” was published in 1992, while he was still known as Tung Twista. Twista signed with Big Beat and Atlantic in the summer of 1997, and his album “Adrenaline Rush” was published after his second album, “Resurrection,” was only released in Chicago owing to marketing concerns. Twista reappeared a year later, forming the Speedknot Mobstaz with other Chicago-area rappers and releasing “Mobstability” as their debut album.

In the fall of 2002, he recorded another album, “Kamikaze,” with Ludacris, Jay-Z, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and others, but it was not released until early 2004 and immediately charted on the Billboard 200, riding the wave of his number one smash single, ‘Slow Jamz.’ In 2009, he released the album “Category F5” after starting his record company, Get Money Gang Entertainment, in 2008. The next year saw the release of “The Perfect Storm,” which featured special guests Chris Brown and Tia London. Twista released a new album in 2014 called “The Dark Horse.”
