In addition to his two older sisters, Salendra and Shonta, Tyrone Gibson Sr. is his older brother. After their father left, the four siblings were raised by their mother. Gibson had a significant year in 1998. His first song, “Nobody Else,” which he released after signing a record deal with RCA Records, peaked at number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100. He became the host of “MTV Jams” in the same year that he published his platinum-certified debut studio album, “Tyrese.” His third track, “Sweet Lady,” was likewise a huge hit and nominated him for a Grammy Award. His second album, “2000 Watts,” was published in 2001 and went on to receive a gold certification.

Another successful year for Gibson was 2011; he signed both the label Voltron Recordz and himself to E.M.I., made appearances in the films Fast Five and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and resumed his musical career.

The same year, he released his fifth album, “Open Invitation,” which opened at number nine on the Billboard 200 and got Gibson a Grammy Award nomination. Tyrese Gibson also released the songs “Stay,” “Too Easy” (with Ludacris), and “Nothing On You.” He starred in “Fast & Furious 6” in 2013. He starred in “Furious 7” and released his sixth studio album, “Black Rose,” in 2015. It opened at number one on the Billboard 200. He starred in “The Fate of the Furious” in 2017.
