Early in his teenage years, he began breakdancing with a troupe, having developed an early fondness for hip hop. Subsequently, he initiated informal rap battles at social gatherings. Prior to turning pro, Ice won a number of Motocross championships as an ardent motorcycle enthusiast.

His 1987 appearances as an opener for rap legend Sir Mix-a-Lot during his Stop the Violence tour propelled him into the upper echelons of the rap industry. Ice recorded his most recognizable single, “Ice Ice Baby,” in 1989. “To The Extreme,” his debut studio album, was released in the same year and went on to achieve the record for the fastest-selling hip hop album of all time. He made his film debut in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze” in 1991. He assumed an artistic sabbatical in 1993. After resuming Motocross competition, Ice began to compete in jet skiing. Subsequently, in the late 1990s, he recommenced his musical career and issued his third studio album.

During the early 2000s, Ice appeared on several reality television programs and collaborated with the American rap rock duo Insane Clown Posse. In the early 2010s, he became more actively engaged in real estate endeavors; he debuted his home renovation program in 2009. He published a book on achieving success in the real estate industry in 2011. He continued his acting career by starring in “That’s My Boy” (2011), a pantomime production by Adlam Sandler, and by appearing in a live theater production of “Peter Pan.” It was declared in 2019 that actor Dave Franco would play the rapper in a biopic.
