Walt Disney Biography: On December 5, 1901, Walt Disney was born. Disney loved drawing as a child and was skilled at it. Disney, aged 18, became an advertising illustrator after taking a few art classes. He quit his work to create the Disney Brothers Studio a few years later. He invented Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Cinderella, Snow White, and others at Disney Studios.

Illustrator and entrepreneur Walt Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1901. Elias Disney, a Canadian of Irish origin, and Flora Dinsey, an American of German and English descent, had him. Herbert, Raymond, and Roy were his older brothers, and Ruth was his younger sister. He was four when his family relocated to Marceline, Missouri, to farm. Disney discovered his love of drawing at the farm. His family’s farm animals, including horses, were his subjects. An advertisement agency employed Disney as an illustrator at 18. He met cartoonist and animator Ub Iwerks there. Disney and Iwerks were fired in 1920. Disney founded his own corporation. He founded Laugh-O-Gram as an animation cartoon firm and hired buddies like Ub Iwerks. After two years in animation, Laugh-O-Gram was struggling. Disney and his older brother Roy created the Disney Brothers Studio in Hollywood. Disney recruited some of his previous employees to his new company in Los Angeles.

At Disney Brothers Studio, Disney brought to life his most essential characters and films, which touched thousands of lives and opened new possibilities to animation. Walt Disney’s first great creation was Mickey Mouse. Disney Brothers Studio became a global powerhouse. In 1966, Disney died of lung cancer. The millions of lives he touched through his films and characters continue on.
