On December 28, 1856, Thomas Woodrow Wilson was born in Staunton, Virginia, in the United States. He was Joseph Ruggles Wilson and Janet Woodrow’s first son and third child. Wilson was raised in a loving and contented household. When he was a toddler, they traveled about a lot, but they never left the South. Wilson’s family relocated to Columbia, South Carolina in 1870 when he was 14 years old, owing to his father’s employment as a professor.

Career

Woodrow Wilson loved going to school and was an excellent student. Wilson learned oratory from his father, Joseph Wilson, and quickly developed a passion for it. Wilson enrolled at Princeton University in 1876. He then enrolled at the University of Virginia to pursue a legal education. He received his Ph.D. in political science and history from Johns Hopkins University. Wilson’s goal job after earning his PhD was to work as a professor. He began his career as a teacher at Bryn Mawr and Wesleyan before being hired as a professor at Princeton in 1890. Wilson was appointed Princeton University’s president in 1902.

Wilson’s political involvement increased when he served as Princeton’s president. He was chosen to serve as New Jersey’s governor in 1910. Wilson then declared his intention to run for president of the United States in the 1912 presidential contest. His tenure as president spanned 1913 to 1921. Woodrow Wilson led the US into World War I while he was president. Woodrow Wilsondrafted and approved the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. Wilson had a stroke in 1921, and his condition didn’t get better in the years that followed. Wilson finally passed away in 1924 at home.
