CBSE 12th History Sample Paper 2024: Download and start preparing for your board exam

The CBSE Class 12 History (Theory) exam comprises 80 marks, and candidates are allotted a total of three hours, with an additional 15 minutes for reading the question paper.

CBSE 12th History Sample Paper 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2024 during the months of February and March. The sample papers for the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2024 can be downloaded here.

The CBSE Class 12 History (Theory) exam comprises 80 marks, and candidates are allotted a total of three hours, with an additional 15 minutes for reading the question paper. For students in the Humanities stream, history is a subject of great significance. While this subject is often regarded as time-consuming and lengthy, students who practice adequately and formulate a well-structured strategy can achieve impressive results. Here are the general instructions

  • The question paper is divided into five sections, namely A, B, C, D, and E, containing 34 compulsory questions.

  • There are 21 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in Section A, with each question carrying one mark.

  • This section contains questions 22 to 27, which are classified as Short Answer Type Questions, and each question is worth 3 marks. It is recommended that you limit your response to between 60 and 80 words for each of these questions.

  • Section C questions 28 to 30 are designated as Long Answer Type Questions, each carrying a weightage of 8 marks. The length of the responses for these questions should be restricted to 300-350 words.

  • Each question in Section D carries four marks, and it is characterized as a source-based question with three sub-questions.

  • In Section E, Question 34 is a map-based question worth five points that involves identifying and locating significant test items. A copy of the map should be attached to the answer book.

  • Despite the fact that there is no overall choice in the question paper, internal choices are provided in certain questions. Candidates are required to attempt only one of these choices for these questions.

  1. Prepare for board exams by solving papers from the past 10 years and sample papers.

  2. It is also important to categorize questions by type, such as multiple-choice questions (MCQs), short answers, very short answers, and long answers.

  3. Sample papers are essential for understanding the current question paper patterns and identifying areas for improvement.

  4. Writing answers is an essential skill that can only be developed through consistent practice.

  5. Make sure your notes are neat, and include flow charts and diagrams whenever possible.

  6. Keep distractions to a minimum.
