Complete list of 115 BRS candidates for Telangana Assembly polls 2023

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has announced its candidates for 115 out of 119 Assembly Constituencies in the State, with only seven alterations, for the upcoming Assembly elections on August 21. K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the party president and chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, has announced that he will run for two seats this election cycle: Gajwel and Kamareddy.

Mr. Rao has also ruled out the possibility of an electoral alliance with the Left parties (CPI and CPI(M)) by asserting that if the candidates for 115 seats were announced all at once, it would indicate that the party had poll alliance intentions.

He stated that he had decided to run in two districts because he had received requests from a number of districts, including Kamareddy.

He stated that the candidacy of the incumbent MLA from Vemulawada, Chennamaneni Ramesh, was not considered due to an unresolved nationality case in court when the list of candidates was released at the party office at “the auspicious time of 2.38 pm.” The party has selected Chalmeda Lakshmi Narasimha Rao to represent the district.

Similarly, the party leadership chose Bhukya Johnson Rathod Naik, who is considered close to working president K.T. Rama Rao, over A. Rekha Naik for the Khanapur seat and Anil Jadhav over incumbent MLA Bapu Rao Rathod for the Boath constituency. In Asifabad, the party has re-elected Kova Laksmi, who won the election in 2014 but lost in 2018. She receives the party’s endorsement in lieu of Athram Sakku, who was elected last time on the Congress ticket but has since switched allegiances to BRS as one of the 12 Congress MLAs.

BRS has selected Bandaru Lakshma Reddy to replace incumbent MLA Bethi Subhash Reddy in the City. The party leadership has considered the request of incumbent MLA Kalvakuntla Vidyasagar Rao to grant his son Dr. K. Sanjay Kumar a ticket for Korutla. Reiterating that Majlis (AIMIM) will continue to be a BRS ally, the two parties will win all 29 seats in Hyderabad and the former Rangareddy districts.

When Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao was informed about Malkajigiri MLA Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao’s ‘final demand’ to the leadership that he wants a nomination for his son for the Medak seat as well or he will leave the party, it was his decision. However, he made it plain that the party would not tolerate anti-party activities and that such elements would be eliminated.

Mr. Rao stated that the party would disclose its election platform at its’simha garjana’ public meeting on October 16 in Warangal.
