Salary structure of Indian MLAs in 2023
Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in India receive numerous allowances and benefits as part of their compensation, which is comprised of multiple components. These components include the following:
Monthly Salary: Monthly Salary for MLAs is Rs. 60,000/-. This constitutes the base pay for their service.
In addition to their monthly salary, MLAs receive a monthly constituency allowance of Rs. 10,000. This allowance is intended to cover costs associated with their employment in their respective districts.
Monthly contingency allowance for MLAs is Rs 5,000/-. This allowance is intended to cover any unanticipated costs that may arise during their term.
Secretarial Allowance: Members of the Legislative Assembly are entitled to a monthly Secretarial Allowance of Rs. 5,000. This allowance is used to maintain their offices and employ staff to assist them in carrying out their legislative responsibilities.

They receive one complimentary non-transferable First-class AC or Executive class train pass as well as one First-class and one Second-class fare for travel by rail.
