84 Vehicles Gifted to Schools and Hospitals in Nepal: According to the Indian Embassy in Nepal, India donated 84 vehicles to various Nepalese organisations operating in the health and education sectors on Sunday. Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava presented representative organisations with the keys to 34 ambulances and 50 school vehicles in the presence of Ashok Kumar Rai, the Minister of Education, Science, and Technology.

“Gifting vehicles has been a long-standing tradition of the Indian government under the Nepal-India Development Partnership Programme to support the government of Nepal’s efforts to improve its infrastructure in the health and education sectors,” said Ambassador Srivastava.

“This is part of a very robust and strong development partnership between India and Nepal, which has a long history and legacy, touching people’s lives and bringing out tangible progress in the development journey of Nepal,” he said at a ceremony attended by mayors, chairpersons of municipalities/rural Municipalities of various local bodies, and representatives of various beneficiary organisations.

Minister of Education Rai praised the Indian government’s ongoing development initiatives in Nepal and expressed his hope that the assistance will continue to strengthen people-to-people connections and bilateral ties between the two nations.

He extolled the Indian government’s support for schools and health facilities in mountainous and Terai regions of Nepal, spanning the entire country.
Since 1994, India has donated 974 ambulances and 234 school buses, including the most recent batch, to various Nepalese health and educational organisations.
