AMU Faculty honoured with prestigious Clarivate IRE-Citation Award 2023

The significance of Prof. Khan's work is highlighted by his significant global citation count, which includes an exceptional Google Scholar cumulative citation count.

Clarivate IRE-Citation Award 2023: Prof. Nafees Ahmad Khan of the Department of Botany at Aligarh Muslim University has received the esteemed Clarivate India Research Excellence-Citation Award 2023 in appreciation of his achievements to the field of botany. This honour is a reflection of Prof. Khan’s outstanding research efforts and his important contributions to the scientific community.

Clarivate Analytics, a pioneer in trusted insights and analytics for research and innovation, presents the Clarivate IRE-Citation Award every two to three years.

The Web of Science study used to determine Prof. Khan as a pioneering researcher deserving of recognition formed the basis for this award.

AMU Faculty honoured with prestigious Clarivate IRE-Citation Award 2023

In particular, in the context of plant resistance against stressful situations, Prof. Khan’s research has focused on understanding the processes of signalling molecules and their function in regulating nutritional elements of plant development. His work has the potential to transform crop agriculture and make it more robust to shifting climatic circumstances because it focuses on optimising nutrient-use efficiency through selective regulation of plant hormones and signalling molecules. The findings of this study have important ramifications for our country’s food security.

Prof. Khan has also received numerous accolades from Elsevier, including being named a Highly Cited Researcher in the subject of Plant Science from 2019 to 2022. Additionally, he edited 21 books that were released by well-known international publishers like Elsevier, Springer, NOVA, and CRC. With his roles as an editor and a guest editor for prominent publishing houses, Prof. Khan has played a significant role in the editorial world.

The significance of Prof. Khan’s work is highlighted by his significant global citation count, which includes an exceptional Google Scholar cumulative citation count, an h-index of 72, and an i-10 index of 201. He has also been elected as a Fellow of several esteemed organisations, such as the Indian Society for Plant Physiology, the Indian Botanical Society, and the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI).
